Here’s news Dr. Bryan Grieg Fry has been awarded the Woodward Medal for Science and Technology.  As many of you know, Bryan’s done some amazing work in venoms.   I got to hang out with Bryan in London a few years back–a great time.  His is an inspiring story.  Can’t wait to see what’s in store from Mexican vampire bats…

My pal Dr. Bryan Grieg Fry of Australia is in the news this week for the paper he’s publishing on the Komodo Dragon and the revelation that Dragon saliva contains venom, not bacteria, as its lethal component.  “Your average lion has a much dirtier bite,” said Bryan Fry, a biologist at the University of Melbourne. “It’s complete voodoo.”
